We have a
series of graph packages which link your course rosters to
achievement data. In each case, schools and districts
receive:
A
graphical display of STAR or CAHSEE data for each course for each
teacher in the school.
For instance, if a teacher teaches both U.S. History and World
History, she will receive a presentation of her students' U.S.
History California Standards Test (CST) performance for her U.S.
History students and a display of her students' World History CST
performance for her World History students. Some districts have
further distinctions between courses. Whatever roster designation
the district provides will be displayed on the figures.
Summary statistics for that
course embedded in the graph
Note the example figure below. Teacher Sergio Hernandez receives a
series of summary statistics:
- He can easily see that 15% of his students in English 11 CP (one of the district's English 11 courses) scored proficient or higher, 18% scored basic, and 66% scored below basic.
- He can compare those results with the summary statistics for English 11 CP districtwide: 76% scored below basic, 13% scored basic, and 10% scored proficient. Mr. Hernandez's class did relatively well in 2007.
- He can also see how many of his students were on the borderline between basic and proficient. In some cases, the figure can be very compelling in that regard. On the CAHSEE, for instance, we often see quite a number of students who passed the CAHSEE and who were a question or two from scoring at the proficient level.

Each of our figure sets has a different set of
summary statistics.
